Robin Kutinyu
Robin Kutinyu’s sculptures remind us that the world around us is not just a landscape, but a sacred, living entity deeply connected to humanity. His work counters the sterile pace of modern life, evoking awe, compassion, and a renewed connection to nature. Through his craft, he brings the soul to life—imbued with purpose, generosity, and reverence for existence.
Born in Zimbabwe, Robin’s love for wildlife began in childhood. Inspired by his father, a renowned sculptor, he sold his first bird and turtle sculptures at age ten. Since then, his journey has been one of continuous exploration of form, movement, and spirit through sculpture.
Robin exclusively uses natural materials, allowing each piece to guide his process. From stone to bronze, he captures not only physical likeness but the soul within each figure. "My work is about the soul, not just a perfect surface,” he says. “It’s about expressing ideas, feelings, and fleeting moments.”
Many of his sculptures are created in the solitude of the desert, where silence fuels his creativity. For Robin, working with stone is a meditation—transforming raw material into something vibrant and alive. He has sculpted in diverse materials such as alabaster, zebrastone, marble, and bronze, but recently focused on bronze for its strength, durability, and ability to capture intricate details.
