Liz McQueen’s art is a joyful celebration of colour and emotion, created to bring happiness into the spaces it fills. As a country girl at heart, she is naturally drawn to the beauty of landscapes and florals. However, her creative process is deeply intuitive and reflects the ebb and flow of her emotions. “My creativity is as varied as my moods,” the artist explains. “Some days, I’m inspired to paint delicate blossoms or sweeping vistas; other days, bold and expressive abstracts feel right.” 

Her approach is spontaneous and unstructured. Liz describes her process as “guided by inspiration each morning, letting the mood of the day dictate what I create.” Whether working with watercolours, textured layers, or vibrant colours, she embraces the freedom to explore and experiment. Each piece becomes a reflection of her emotions and the energy she feels while creating. 

In her abstract works, Liz relies on her first instinctive mark to set the direction, allowing the composition to evolve naturally. “It’s not about overthinking,” she says. “It’s about being in tune with the process and letting the art speak for itself.”
