Ilja Visser is a Dutch-born artist based in Dubai. Her proud clients include Lady Gaga, Alicia Keys, Avril

Lavigne, Kourtney Kardashian, and many more. Visser was admitted to the French trade association of

high fashion, the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, and she became officially part of Paris Haute

Couture Week. Ilja presented alongside Christian Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, Fendi, and Jean-

Paul Gaultier.

After 20 years of fashion design, Ilja now creates wall artwork with the same style, precision, and

storytelling. Her work transforms spaces and touches on identity, atmosphere, and aesthetics.

Ilja Visser is a visionary mixed-media artist whose work blurs the boundaries between embroidery of

yarns, reused fabrics, oil paint, acrylic paint, bold chalk, markers, dry chalk, and pencils. She transforms

the traditionally flat surface into a dynamic and tactile landscape by weaving materials on the canvas.

Visser's creative process is deeply intuitive and multisensory. As she embroiders or applies acrylic and oil

paint layers, she immerses herself in violin music and hip hop sounds. This striking combination reflects

her love of contradiction. This interplay of delicate classical melodies with the raw rhythms of hip hop

energizes her pieces, infusing them with an unexpected and vibrant tension.
